who we are
We are people, like you, created in the image of God - made to love, work, and play in ways that reflect the glory of God – His character and creativity. Though that is the way we were created, when we are honest with ourselves, we are often lonely, unloving, fearful, driven, discouraged, and even ashamed individuals. We long to be restored to wholeness, to holiness, to God.
our mission
To continually receive and extend the Grace and Peace of Christ for the forgiveness, restoration and renewal of ourselves, Madison, and the world.
our core values
The Gospel - The Divine Power and Authority of Scripture
God created all that is by His powerful word for His glory. The Bible is the only, inerrant written Word of God revealing whom God is and how we are to live before Him. When we believe and rely upon the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ revealed in the Bible, we open our lives to God’s redemptive power to forgive, restore and renew us. We humbly seek to understand, believe, live, and make known the whole Word of God.
Worship - In and Through Christ
We were created to worship and serve our Creator, but our pride and unbelief led us to reject God in our hearts. Since God is holy and jealous for our whole-hearted devotion, we now need a mediator to even approach God before whom no sinner may stand. In His amazing grace, God has called us to joyfully enter His presence in and through His Son Jesus Christ as revealed in Scripture. We will gather weekly as a community - joining the hosts of heaven - to worship and serve God the Father in and through our mediator Jesus Christ, by the power of His Spirit for the glory of God in our world.
Mutual Care - Loving One Another in Christ
A living faith in Christ is marked by Christ-like love for His Church, involving sacrificial care for one another’s needs. How that care is expressed depends on the needs of the body, our measure of faith, and the nature of our gifts. As we serve one another, we serve the Lord. As we make our needs known to one another, we acknowledge our need of Christ and our place in His body, the Church. God has commissioned pastors and teachers to equip His people for building up the body of Christ. We humbly strive to be a community that needs and cares for one another in Christ.
The Kingdom of God - Justice, Mercy, and Reverence for God
Jesus came to liberate us from a kingdom of spiritual darkness - marked by injustice, selfishness, and pride and to usher in the Kingdom of God, marked by justice, mercy, and reverence for God. We will by God’s grace pursue His Kingdom purposes in our homes and work. We will also seek to extend His Kingdom to those in need around us, especially the hungry, alien, homeless, sick, orphaned, widowed and imprisoned. We will humbly seek to bless all places where God has called us, all for His glory.
Prayer - A Privilege and Utter Necessity
God has given us His Son, whom He loves. He will, also graciously give us all things in accord with His will. Knowing this privileged standing we have in Christ and that apart from Him we can do nothing, we will persist by faith in Kingdom-centered prayer.
The Call of God - God’s Calling all People’s to Christ
God’s Spirit is continually drawing a people from all nations and people groups to Christ. God has commanded his Church to make disciples of Christ. Therefore, we will expect, prepare for, and pursue opportunities to make devoted followers of Christ from those who do not yet trust in His name.
